Entrance to mushroom exhibit

Kennett Square celebrated its 24th Mushroom Festival this past weekend. Mushrooms are a very important crop grown in Southern Chester County.
The Mission of The Mushroom Festival is to promote the mushroom, educate consumers about the health benefits of mushrooms and to promote tourism in Southern Chester County, all while financially supporting local and regional charities through a grant process.
To learn more about the festival, please click on here: http://www.mushroomfestival.org/aboutus.htm

What a great idea. A lot of years ago when I was in the automobile game the wife of one of the guys made several copies of a little cluster of ceramic mushrooms. Every desk in the dealership had one except for the boss. And you guessed it they symbolized being kept in the dark etc, etc.

For those who can't hike into the woods to find "squirrel food" the white button mushroom there is a constant supply of these delicious little button mushrooms at the market.

This challenge is teaching me more about mushrooms than I ever knew; want to know more about the oyster and Enoki mushrooms that sound good for health.

Kennett Square I know well and Mushrooms I like. On my trips to the Philly area I used to take Route 1 back and stop at Phillps for a few boxes of mushrooms. They had great portobellos. Very cool shot on the bottom from the shroom cam.

Great! I like most of them especially portobello (farmers sold them door to door when I was a kid).
