This is a poem written by Henry W. Longfellow who was born in 1807 and died in 1882. I bought this book when I was a very young girl at a household auction because I loved it's suede bookcover with the name "Henry W. Longfellow" imprinted in gold on the front. The pages are very delicate with gold edges. Growing up, I used to like to read the poem about Hiawatha.
