Last Light Warms Half Dome

Yosemite, California

You know what it's like, when the sun is setting... fast, and there's still so many beautiful
forground subjects and views to capture before the magic tiptoes into the night. What you don't
see in this picture, is nine of us photo maniacs running madly around this bit of rock like a horde
of ants with tripods. I can only imagine how that might appear to someone without a camera.

Humorous to think about all the photographers trying to get their shots, before the light disappears. I doubt that anyone caught his view better than you did! Beautiful image!!

What a great background story. I like how you filled the foreground with this weathered tree.

Such a wonderful mood here, very nice composition Sandi. About speed: last week in a charming place sunset was faster than me, so I had no opportunity to push the button at all:)

Photographers are indeed curious creatures certainly when observed by the casual outsider. Your scrambling was well rewarded with this wide lead-in shot. V
