Onstage and Backstage at the Nutcracker 2007

This gallery is composed of images from the Gwinnett Ballet Theatre's 26th Anniversary production season of The Nutcracker. I have been asked many times to show more backstage scenes so I have included many shots from warm-up class before performance and backstage shots during performance. None of these shots are posed. I lurk about backstage waiting on enough light to shoot. The dancers totally ignore me, thankfully! The performance shots are mostly taken during dress rehearsals. There are also a few shots I made on stage during dress rehearsal shooting toward the audience. All images were made with a Canon 5D at ISO 1600 and Canon Mark III at ISO 1600 If you believe this gallery has merit, please vote so others may enjoy these beautiful athlete-artists!

I have a good friend that takes here in ballet, Elizabeth Bruno. She is 3 yrs younger than me and was in this performance. She is sure to be a great work of art when she reaches the age for going en pointe'. These pictures are stunning. I wish the ballet at my studio was this good!!

Hehehe, the dancers dont just ignore you... you have become part of the furniture. Over the years you have become as much a part of the Gwinnett Ballet as the dancers themselves. You are their ambassador and the captures that you get of them will help them with their future career tracks. The backstage vantage point has helped the viewer understand the time, blood sweat and tears that have gone into each performance. Lurking around in the background may not have been the right choice of words. I would much rather see it as... you are there. At the right place at the right time and you have yet again succeeded in capturing every moment to make this event both memorable and in a sense immortalized.
