Message from Steve Highfield
I've been interested in photography since childhood when I first used my mum's old Box Brownie film camera.
In my twenties I bought my first 35mm film SLR, a Pentax ME Super and a few lenses.
I then learned how to develop my own transparancies.
Many different cameras followed over the years.
Today, I use the Canon 5D SLR with various lenses for my digital work.
For professional film work I use the Horesman 5" x 4" Large Format monorail system view camera
Lenses Rodenstock Sironar - N f5.6 150mm
Schneider Kreuznach Angulon f6.8 90mm wide angle lens.
All that is mounted on a heavy duty Manfrotto tripod fitted with the 3 way head.
Lightmeter - Gossen Lunasix 3.
The 'Horseman 450' is a beautifully engineered precision instrument producing the ultimate
in picture quality that digital simply cannot touch.
I shoot digital alongside large format as subject and situations dictate.
The Woodland Trust Photographer Of The Year Award 2007.
During the Autumn of 2006 I'm pleased to say that I became a member of the Woodland Trust
Volunteer Photographers Scheme.
The Woodland Trust is the UK's leading woodland conservation charity who's aims and objectives
are to protect, improve and expand precious woods, to improve wildlife habitats and to increase peoples awareness and enjoyment of woods.
I was fortunate and extremely proud to be awarded the Photographer Of The Year 2007
for the Woodland Trust.
