Graceful Death

Tulips... One of my favorite flowers to shot. Peony.. While may be not the most beautiful, but at some moments and particular angles.... One more shot and then one more again. But may be this time to try something different from the regular tulip or flower shot. Something that people not quite even shoot. Dying flowers... Well, May be not literally, but waning, finishing blooming, drying out, no petals, ready to burst and end their life cycle for the year. I tried to see beauty in something that's really not usually associated with beauty. Beauty in the death. May be not just my regular flower shots.....

Usually I found flowers gallery boring to death, but there are always exceptions and they are great.
You could give life and emotions to these flowers, transforming them in a vibrant symphony of colours and making them even able to become silent actors of an emotional story, there is a bit of abstract too, even though the images are sharp and accurate.
All these elements create a cocktail which is extremely enjoyable to sip....with eyes

As a painter I usually often watched the beauty of fading in nature, because I also did find it beautifull, a very fragile but intense beauty. These fotos show exactly that. I feel like thanking you to recognise this. Many thanks! It will become one of my favourite galleries!

Such a beautiful gallery Michael....Tulips are just amazing from the buds to the fading bloom...they give such wonderful colors,textures and sculptural designs...I shoot them too and add filters to some images and enjoy them from begining to end! Nicely done. A lot more challenging than it seems -- because at this stage, as you know, the petals will drop off at the slightest movement of breath of air. Which sure can make it frustrating when you want to put the fading blossom in just the right position! :-)

I agree with you and I too am very fond of tulips. Every stage os their bloom is a wonder and you have captured their waning glory. They die as aristocrats.
