I'm currently reading John Banville's latest novel 'Ancient Light'.
As can be expected from this Booker Prize winning author, the prose
is wonderfully evocative.
The central character, an aging actor, sits in his attic preparing for his first film role, and looks back on the passionate affair which he had, aged 15, with his best friend's mother.
The story is beautifully told even if it makes somewhat uncomfortable reading for the mother of a teenage boy!
