I have been having great fun photographing the bunch of tulips I bought in a supermarket
last week. It's just as well that I want to put them under my macro lens as they would
be very disappointing if I just wanted them to look pretty in a vase. For they have
drooped since I placed them in the vase. Perhaps it's because I forgot my mother-in-laws
advice about cutting the stems on the diagonal before putting them in water. Or
perhaps they were just a sad bunch from the start. But they have provided me with
a colourful subject when I just have time to grab a quick shot during my lunch break.
I did read somewhere that flowers should be shot with defused light but I quite light
the effects created by the cold winter sunlight streaming through the sitting room window.

You squeezing every last photo out of them thats for certain. Great shot again, I like the light on this too. I wonder how they get diffused light in the middle of summer for the flower shots, maybe they use a filter.

I love tulips, and you caught the tulipness very nicely in this shot. Uschi (V)

Isn't it funny that some still insist that pictures should be done this way or that way? These are pretty in any light, at any stage of their lives.

Lovely! Cut tulips just don't last very long, not matter what you do.~V~

I quite like the "droopiness" that I'm sure it's impossible to avoid with tulips. This is a lovely macro shot.

I love cut tulips also. Unfortunately, so does Miles, which means they eventually become a pile of petals on the floor. :(
Lovely macro shot! V

A pretty angle on this tulip. Cut all flower stems under water, and let them rest there for five minutes or so. V

Oh no, not the mother-in-laws advice........ Yikes!
These are the most beautiful supermarket tulips in the world! Or, maybe it's your photography! BV
