February 3, 2012, The never ending handstory update.
February 29 it's time for surgery number 3. This time they´ll fix my bent and compressed radius. They´ll saw off the bone, take a bonegraft from my hipbone and make a wedge to lengthen and straighten up the wrist. Then a metalplate and screws to keep everything in place until it mends. And some ligament/cartilage between radius/ulna/metacarpal bones is torn or stretched. But the bones have to be set right before repairing that. So I might need another operations later on. Yikes!
I've been in the surgery queue since August last year. There´s a rule saying that if a patient has to wait more than 3 months they can get the operation in some other part of the country without extra costs. I contacted the "Vårdgaranti-kansliet", that take care of this in November. Last week they contacted me that I could be transferred to another handsugery clinic and "only" have to wait 1-2 months for surgery. And I know I´d had to wait at least 2-3 months more at the clinic where I´m listed now. So, for short, went to Uppsala for evaluation last Monday. And now we´ll see how things progress.And this hospital is closer to home, only 1 hour by bus, instead of 2,5-3 hours to Stockholm. That´s not bad...
And I still have some compressed nerve in my left elbow due to overuse or something. Sigh...
I´ve been photographing a lot of dogs/cats/flowers this summer. And babies! Would like to do more of that. Bought 2 sets of studiolights, haven´t even tested them yet. It´s kind of a birthday gift from relatives/workcollegues. Now I just need a studio and a lesson in studiolighting ;o)
May 5th 2010 was the 3 years celebration of my PBase Galleries. I started them when I needed a place to store my James Marsters photos so other fans could see them too.
And it looked a bit too fan-girlish with only James´s so I uploaded some cat-photos, and dogs, and flowers...
Now, 3 years later, there are 140 galleries with 5759 photos.
