Have a cuppa

Visitors to Irish homes are inevitably invited to have a cup of tea. It's considered polite to decline the first offer, but when pressed upon again, the guest then agrees to have a cuppa.. This convention formed a key concept in the hit tv comedy Fr Ted. The priests' housekeeper Mrs Doyle, whose mission in life was to serve tea, would dismiss all refusals with 'Ahh go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on.....' until they give in.
Having recently discovered the delights of tea leaves as opposed to tea bags, I bought this tea strainer so that we can enjoy a cup of freshly brewed Assam (or strawberry in the case of our son) even when there's not enough people around to justify making a pot of tea.
On a wet miserable November day, a nice cup of tea is just the ticket to cheer one up and is my entry to the TITC
when the task was to photograph a kitchen implement using creative lighting.

This is a wonderful black and white shot! I'm a tea-drinker also and love loose teas. :)

Nice work for TITC. I am a tea person too - dark black, no sugar or milk is my preference.

Great littl device, I'm till chuckling at the thought of Mrs Doyle's persistance. A true TV classic. Anyone who dosn't know father ted needs to look him up on youtube ASAP.
