Tippings' Wood

It was another perfect autumn day with bright warm sunshine.
The leaves are really starting to take their autumn colour over
the past week and I found a treasure trove of conkers when
I ventured into Tippings' Wood today. When I was a child
conkers were a precious commodity and would never have
been left in such abundance. Today's children are all too
busy with their Wiis and Playstations for such simple fun.

Oh... one of my favorite childhood memories is finding the buckeyes (we didn't call them conkers) and making a necklace. We would gather a bucket full!

A truly idyllic scene. The cold weather has come too soon here. We even had snow already!

What a fine day to go exploring! A lovely scene. I would guess conkers are some sort of nut. Would I be right?
