Inside Layser Cave Discovered By Forest Service Employee " Tim Layser in 1982 after being a secret for thousands of year. Smoke stained cave roof and full of stone age weapson's and tools,, ( though most to taken by looters being the cave could be secure. This was only 10 miles from Randle Wash. and fairly recently found.. Could Bigfoot have used such a cave??? ( and not be found ??? )

Ok,, not,,, this is the famous " Grandma Gatewood " who was a great long distance hiker in the 60's and early 70's. ( 1887-1973 ) She did the whole AT in 1955 to become the first woman to hike the trail in one season. ( She raised 11 kids,, then divorced.. She did the AT several times and last hiked the AT in 1967. At age 71, she attempted the PCT, but age finally stopped her. She passed away at age 85 June 5th, 1973.. Title " Toughest Gal in Amercia "..

Learned more my early climbing ,knot etc. straight out of that book,, then bought the gear and just " Did It ". Self Taught On Repelling, Ice Axe Arrest, etc. and practiced,,,, lots,,,. Nice to reread these today with all the cool old " Retro Gear ",, stoves,tents, packs,etc.... I would still advice any outdoor hiker/climber to get a copy of each of these fine books. ( Made By Griswold in Erie PA Who sold out in Dec. 1958 To Wagner. 70 Year Old Stove, 100 Plus Year OLd Pan,,, LIfe Is Good,,,,

Megan Placed At 103lb.s in Washington State high school wrestling. Now the girls have there own state tourney, but Megan and only one other gal are still allowed to compete agaist the boys as they are " Grandfathered" in. She has qualified for state twice and will be shooting for her thrid this year. They are just a few of her metals. Her Dad Jerry wrestled in college on my team and is now head coach at Megan's high school. We always joked theat you had to be a " State Wrestler " in their family just to have kids. ( I guess that is still true!! ) Good luck Megan at State..... ( UPDATE: Megan Won State This Year In Girls State Tourney At 119lb. Weight Class!!! ) Congrads!!!

Frank Watkin's Stole A Bunch Of The Town's Horses In 1903, then was " Dumb Enough " to come back in 1904 and " Shoot Up The Town". ( Three of his bullet holes are still in the roof of the Riverside Grocery Store to this day) As he slept in a stable , town's folks shot him as he lay . His grave is near Riverside on the old Riverside/ Omak highway..... Unmarked as seen by road.. The real " Wild West" at It's Best!!!!!!!

Wrestling is still a small world and during the season the whole family is involved with the highs and lows of wrestling. By Feb. , it has been a long season. Wrestling is one of the oldest sports around a one everyone can compete in as it is by weight. Also the more you work , the better you do. This is a sport where someone with average gifts and hard hard can become quite successful. Dad, Mom , Brothers , everyone is there to share Mike's victory.

Last minute of a close match. Nothing in high school sports is as " Up Close And Personal " as wrestling. Here Mike Morales defeats his oppponent from Vashon Island in a tight , well wrestled match.
