I sawed off the two frayed ends, and used an internal aluminum sleeve

I found that an aluminum arrow shaft fits the inside tube of the carbon pole section perfectly, so I decided to do a repair. I first cut off each of the frayed ends just past the cracks. I put masking tape around the tube, and used a very fine hacksaw blade and cut slowly and gently.I then sanded the ends and edges smooth with fine emory paper. Carbon fiber cuts and sands easily.
