Mottled tortoise beetle (Deloyala guttata)

Mer Bleue Conservation Area. There were dozens of these tiny larvae (about 2mm in size) of the attractive Mottled Tortoise Beetle on morning glory, one of their favourite plants. The brown knobby thing on the back is a fecal shield which they created in hopes it will deter predators.
