Mottled Tortoise beetle (Deloyala guttata)

These tiny beetles (about 5-7mm) are like little jewels, in my opinion anyway! They are called tortoise beetles because when they feel threatened or are disturbed, they tuck their antennae and legs under their elytra or "shell".

other sizes: small medium original auto

It is indeed jewel like, and one of the most interesting in the gallery, and a nice, crisp shot.
