Found this handsomely black and white beetle at the Fletcher Wildlife Garden. I have been looking at ragweed plants for some time hoping to see this species, and finally was rewarded. This beetle is indigenous to North America, and has been considered a bio-control agent for ragweed. However, I'm not sure how well it is able to limit the spread of ragweed as I see lots of plants wherever I go, and this is the first beetle I've found. And in fact, this was not on ragweed, but on Beggarticks (Bidens), although there was ragweed right around this plant.
