THere were a few more of these lady beetles nearby, on one warm early spring day. A non-native species brought over to control aphids. They have since spread widely, but they certainly do focus in on aphids! This is a very variable species, some have only a few spots, others have many, some have none, and colour can range from this bright orange to almost red.
