Twenty-spotted ladybeetle (Psyllobora vigintimaculata)

Mer Bleue Conservation Area. This is a tiny, about 2 mm, ladybeetle, that looks superficially like a very tiny Fourteen-spotted Ladybeetle. According to Stephen Marshall, it feeds only on mildew, rather than being a predator as most lady beetles are. I've only seen this beetle twice, and each time in the Mer Bleue Conservation Area.

I've never seen one like this. I like that it eats mildew, I always have mildew problems in my garden. V

So tiny to think someone counted his dots. Your photos show the incredible diversity of the natural world.

I like its white color with black spots. Does it have exactly twenty? Beautiful capture of this very tiny beetle. V.
