Two-spotted lady beetle (Adalia bipunctata)

West Ottawa

A very small (about 4mm) lady beetle. I had not seen this particular species before so it was a nice find. Bug Guide confirmed the ID for me, and looking at the images on Bug Guide I see that this species is incredibly variable in colour and pattern.

Each spot on its back is almost a Batman pattern ! Neat little lady beetle.

I think we see beetles like this in our area in spring.
