10 Woodland

Melbourne, Australia

Braeside Park is a large, natural area with three very distinct environments wetlands, heathland and red gum woodland.
The park is a peaceful interlude with the surrounding busy urbanity.

The years of drought has also a big strain on the eucalyptus trees, they die because of the increasing salinity of the soil.
The landscape looks green due to the winter rain, but it doesn’t mean that the drought is over.

The eucalyptus is a tough tree, sad to see them dying. I like the contrasts in this photo.

What an unusual looking tree!
At least....for me.
It is sad to loose trees...

Lovely with the blue sky and flowering native plants Mieke! The remnant tree in
the foreground looks like its been through a bushfire.

A wonderful shot of this landscape, so different from ours here in Ottawa.
