11 Waratah

Cranbourne view map

Waratah (Telopea) is a genus of five species of large shrubs or small trees in the Proteaceae,
native to the South-Eastern parts of Australia.

The name waratah comes from the Eora Aboriginal people, the original inhabitants of the Sydney area.

It is a bird-attracting plant, providing large quantities of nectar for a variety of honeyeaters.
