3rd - "Obscured By Clouds"

Cheltenham, Glos

(title track from eponymous 1972 album, based on the soundtrack for the film La Vallée)

I'm not sure if this is Obscured by Clouds, Let There Be More Light or A Saucerful of Secrets!!

Day three and I've already broken my self-imposed prime lens rule, but I couldn't resist last night's spectacular lunar show over the back garden. Quite by chance, I had been loaned the 70-300mm Sigma just a couple of days ago but hadn't really tried it out...

...but when I came home from work and saw the intense colours in the clouds around the moon, I just had to have a go! This is the best of about thirty or so photos - the brightness of the moon's light was really quite intense, so much so that it produced this brilliant radiance in the clouds (is there a proper name for this?)

Absolutely perfect, so moody and a little disquieting as often the moon is...

How fun is that. I did the same with my 70-300 last night, but the shot wasn't moody or dramatic enough. Well done Dougie!

This really works well as a Pink Floyd title. It could very well be an album cover. The light and the color in the clouds is AWESOME!!! BV
