White-capped Water Redstart

(chaimarronis leucocephalus)
The White-capped Water Redstart is a very smart bird which is usually found in rocky rivers and waterfalls in mountainous areas. This very obliging bird was found in the gardens of the Angkhan Nature Resort hotel on Doi Ang Khang. The 'waterfall' here is a tiny artificial pumped trickle beside the bar terrace but the bird seemed to like it ! We did find other birds at real waterfalls on Doi Inthanon.
