Great Hornbill

(buceros bicornis)
An amazing huge bird which we found in good numbers often quite close to the road in Khao Yai National Park. In flight its wings make a deep whooshing sound so we could often hear birds flying over the forest canopy. Some of these photographs were taken at a (repaired) nest hole in a huge roadside tree. Birds could frequently be seen at fruiting trees.
