(lepilemur petteri)
Petter's Sportive lemur is a small lepilemur which is found in dry habitats, principally spiny forest, in the south west of Madagascar.
However, there is some doubt about whether these photos are of Petter's Sportive Lemur. The local guide at Parc Mosa at Ifaty identified this animal as White-footed Sportive Lemur but the distribution range of that species is far away to the south east of the island. The animal appeared to fit the description of Petter's Sportive Lemur and the distribution range of Petter's comes closer to Ifaty but is still thought to only occur as far north as the Onilahy River which flows through Toliara about 50 km to the south. Another possible identification might be Hubbard's Sportive Lemur but it did not look quite correct for that.
