We had just started out for our first day in Salalah, in southern Oman near the Yemeni border, and were filling up the car when this camel drove into the station. Of course, I was all excited and ran over there to photograph it. Unlike the camels in Saudi Arabia, however, this Omani camel didn’t like my camera, although the gas attendant was happy to pose. Even the owner tried to get the camel to look at me, but to no avail. Turned out we saw many camels, cows and goats in and along the road after we headed into the hills to visit the sacred site of Job’s tomb.
The exposure was a nightmare in this image, so hope I haven’t overdone the processing (but it had to be).
