sauntering home after a walk in the forest (see previous) put me back in the glare of the hot sun...that was enjoyable too though, as the keen gardeners of the neighbourhood have planted their grounds with some effusive flashes of colour in mind

That's a grand, colorful image and as much as I like the red, it's the little purple flowers that do it for me. Adds just the right amount of interest. Great shot! V

Great example of Crocosmia Lucifer (if you want its name), one of my favorites with its explosive red, but basically 'cause it reminds me of:
"Seventy-six trombones led the big parade
With a hundred and ten cornets close at hand..".
I can almost hear Robert Preston booming this out.
