One of the most important monuments is the Parthian Monument situated nearby the Celsus Library. Some fragments of the reliefs were found, used as spolie material, at the fountain erected later on in front of the Celsus Library. The reliefs depict the war of Marcus Aurelius and Lucius Verus against the Parthians. A few pieces are in this museum, the majority however are in the Ephesus Museum in Vienna. What’s missing has been supplied as a copy from the Vienna ones.
