Bassus fountain

I had more pictures I thought were from the Fountain of Laecainus Bassus but some have moved to the Trajan group, as I was corrected. I'm not certain of the remaining ones, except for the general view. The Bassus one is also known as the Hydrekdocheion, constructed in 80-82 AD at the crossroad of two main streets overlooking the terrace of the Domitian Temple. He was a governor of Ephesus, the fountain was so sumptuously decorated it was called the “Water Palace”. The museum had 69-96 AD, maybe he governed long.
A pool of 12,35 x 8,30 m served as a reservoir and was surrounded by ostentatious two-storied facades with aediculas on the east, west and north wings. On the fourth wing there was a unit where the water was collected. It was richly decorated and was the first of its kind in Ephesus.
