In Turkish: Ayvalı Köyü, in the province of Ürgüp, is a small village that I'd never visited before. I had the mistaken idea that I could easily descend into a valley I’d identified on Google Earth, and then walk to Mustafapaşa. I gave it several tries, but the descent alone was a steep one, and the valley seemed to have no path for pedestrians. So I then asked locals if it was feasible, and the way they smiled explained a lot. So in the end I took the main road, from time to time looking down into the valley, or one of its outcrops. It was a fine walk, but I was glad to be back in Mustafapaşa. In Ayvalı Köyü itself only a mosque took my fancy, though I seemed to have only seen part of the village.
