I will work with galleries within galleries here, because the open air museum essentially is a number of churches and monasteries close to each other. The major churches will have separate galleries. You may want to compare the pictures with Kariye Church or Aya Sofia in Istanbul. Many pictures were taken under awkward light conditions (daylight streaming in through doors, several types of artificial lighting inside, some giving a glare of their own). I made a trade-off between clarity and proper colour, in some cases the colour of the original stone is more yellowish-red than I show it. In the Buckle Church light was so poor I had to resort to 1600 ISO and fully open lens, with the noise and blur that was to be expected.

GÖREME AÇIK HAVA MÜZESİ

Burada, galerilerin içinde farklı galerilerle çalıştım, çünkü açık hava müzesi aslında birbirine yakın birçok kilise ve manastırdan oluşuyor. Ana kiliselerin ayrı galerileri var. Resimleri, İstanbul’daki Kariye Kilisesi ve Ayasofya galerileriyle karşılaştırmak isteyebilirsiniz.

Resimlerin çoğu, uygun olmayan ışıkta çekildi (kapılardan içeri sızan günışığı ve içeride kimisi parlayan farklı tipte yapay ışıklandırmalar). Netlikle, doğru renk arasında bir denge oluşturdum; bazı durumlarda, taşın asıl rengi resimdekilerden daha sarımtırak bir kırmızı. Tokalı Kilise’de ışık o kadar yetersizdi ki, karlanma ve bulanıklığı önlemek için 1600 ISO kullanmak ve objektifi tamamen açmak zorunda kaldım.
