LaMotte's Restaurant and Bar

New Freedom, PA

Established in 1935 - Famous for their MD Crab Cakes

Unfortunately, they were shut down by the New Freedom Borough
this week and according to the sign - "Closed Indefinitely"
Such a shame because its been our favorite watering hole since we
moved up here in 1987.

Unless my memory is fading, this is where I gave you
your first camera lesson Deborah.
; )
I can still remember the four of us waiting in the bar
and posing for those pics.

Good times...

I have eaten in many countries, and still LaMotte's was always a favorite place to eat!
Alot of good times and memories boarded up forever. A Sad Day for New Freedom and all
her wonderful people.

Oh, I like this building. Maybe they will fix it up and reopen soon?

Good capture of such a long brick building. Unfortunate that it has been closed "indefinalty" ... whatever that means.

That is too bad. This is Pensyltucky. Just remember that. Not like Baltimore.
I know people will really miss it. The picture is great.

I remember going here one time with Mom and Dad. The crab cake was really good! So sad to see another small business go under yet again.

So very very sad. I am glad that I took Curvin there recently. One last good memory. Just wish now that I would have gotten a crab cake!

Dont know what New Freedom Borough is; something to do with money no doubt?
Looks like a beautiful building from the industrial age. Nice shot.

Great old building...good shot.

Probably done in the name of "progress". Nice shot for posterity!

Looks like the passing of another era. This building so reminds me of many small watering holes in the towns surrounding Pittsburgh.

Walter Otto Koenig04-Jul-2009 00:52
