March 18 2005:
Haunted Towpath

Another cracking day. Woke up with a crap throat, but somehow felt the need to go out and enjoy the perfect afternoon light, and took myself out for a pleasant stroll along the Wey Navigations between Send and Triggs Lock.

So it was a surefire cert that I’d be posting a riverside shot today. Well, I did! This is my shadow up against some wooden boarding. It was one of those shots that looked so much better in the LCD, so I decided to do some extensive post processing at home to regain that spooky effect.

Here are some additions to my “Around West Surrey” gallery

Photoshop:
Cropped and Resized
Converted to Grayscale
Duotoned using Pantone 1255C
Added Blur
Added Noise
Added Texturiser (Canvas)

So creative, Ray. Beyond photography and definitely speaking to the unconscious. Vote.

Yes jude mc is right: Peter Pan maybe, and much more perhaps...
This image speaks to the unconscious.

It reminds me of Peter Pan looking for his left-behind shadow.. Very creative

(or maybe 'Escape from Colditz'...)

Looks like a gorgeous day! The main pic reminds me a bit of the 'Band On The Run' LP cover.

Wonderful shadow! It has life and personality, something rather hard to accomplish with a shadow :-)

It's a very scary looking hobbit!

I always look forward to your intermission shots Ray and you never disappoint me.
I was walking the Wey Navigation yesterday in the sunshine, great spot.

Post processing on this is outstanding... I really like the tones and composition.
