March 19 2005:
Breakdancer

This weather has been crazy!

I was not the only out today in my summer garb, and I spent the afternoon on London’s South Bank, renowned for its street entertainment in the shadow of the London Eye.

Amongst the performers were a newly formed breakdance duo, and this is Courtney. Apparently, he is a keen photographer too and I was soon ‘announced’ to the crowd of onlookers and then confronted by the pair posing for my camera. Duh! I was still on 1/160th for a very shadowy shot, so a couple came out a bit naff.

Still, I was really pleased with this action shot, thankfully taken at 1/400th on ISO100, such was the light today.

You can see some more of the pair HERE.

And here’s a portrait of a caribbean steel drum player also there today

I love this shot! Except for the exhilarating expression on his face, I'd have assumed he was just falling down and about to crack his head! So glad this isn't the case. What fun! Don't you wish YOU could do breakdancing?!
