What a wonderful gallery. I love seeing the dresses and the hats, too. My sisters have photos in that style clothing. In spite of it all, ladies dressed like ladies.

Oh what a pleasure to see this very fine series, first I thought that they were from 1945. You captured the mood of the 40's very well and great to see them in monotone. You used dof also very well in this fine collection. Was this for a documentary or film ? I would have loved to be there to but now I'm very glad that you brought these to us on, a real joy for my eye and brain.

Stunning gallery Ray. Voted. You've truly found an antique look that suits these pictures well. I notice you also have put some effort into composing and/or cropping to eliminate any sign of modern day anachronisms that would have ruined the effect. And, of course, as always, your ability to capture candid moments while remaining apparently invisible to your subjects is unsurpassed.
The processing you used (hue: 48, sat: 18) is quite close to what I did in my PDA gallery (hue: 58, sat: 8-15). The only difference is that in order to achieve the "golden glow of love", I also added a Gaussian blur layer of 20%, and lowered the opacity of the layer to 10-25%.

It makes one realize how important photography is and how we should take pictures at any chance we get. In addition the care of these images throughout the years amkes me wonder what will happen to my digital images years from now.....

Nothing like being transported 60 years into the past. Some people today sniff with disdain at 35mm cameras. However, this gallery's special appeal would be meaningless without those wonderful images we have seen over the years taken by our grandparents, using nostalgia to create a unique realism to these images. Excellent recreation!

This is absolutely stellar, Ray! It perfectly evokes the age. The toning is spot on. The expressions and the mood are convincingly real and 1945. I think "the laughing cleaner" is the best.
