Message from Peter Chou
Greetings to all fellow photographers and photography lovers. My name is Peter Chou and I am a registered nurse currently practicing in United States of America’s. The Black and White photographs presented in this gallery are my more recent work done since 2002. Before that, my work were all in colour and very mediocre in standard. After I bought my first rangefinder camera in 2002, I am convinced that I have found my ideal tool for visual expression. Rangefinder photography gives me a sense of freedom and joy that I have never felt in my earlier years of photography exploration. I owned 2 Voigtlander Bessa R2, 2 Voigtlander Bessa R2A and various 35mm and 50mm Voigtlander lenses but I have finally switch to digital photography by using Fujifilm X100.

All the photographs that you see here are taken with Voigtlander equipment. Some of my friends commented that my photos are rough looking, almost bordering on being ugly. I told them that I do not know how to make pretty pictures, but I do know how to make real ones. I do hope you all will enjoy my photographs as much as I enjoy making them. Please note that all images in my folders are copyrighted to Peter Chou and if you should want to use them, please contact me by via private message. As a post-script I present a quotation that illustrates my philosophy towards photography. 'The photograph itself doesn't interest me. I want only to capture a minute part of reality'. (Henri Cartier-Bresson, 1908-2004)
