13th - Education & Wednesday's Windows

Chateau de Chaumont, Mainsat

Built in the early 1900's the Chateau housed and protected 147 Jewish families during WW11.
It became their home, SCHOOL, in fact everything to them.
Sadly the Chateau was destroyed by fire in 1985 and today remains a complete ruin.

A short history - http://www.ajpn.org/sauvetage-Chateau-de-Chaumont-205.html

Nothing in comparison to some PBasers but I hit the 1,000,000th visit today.

Wednesday's Windows are open HERE

With so much history here, it's a crying shame that this building wasn't renovated after the fire.
