Towers of the Covered Bridges, which were an old fortification complex at the end of La Petite France, the old part of Strasbourg.
The Covered Bridges date from 1230, and included 4 towers or lookouts (of which only 3 now survive). They were built originally from wood,
later in stone, and the “covers” were finally removed in the late 18th century. The current stone bridges date from 1860-70.
