BLUE CURLING TEAM

Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

Terri's husband, Craig, is on a Curling Team and they won tonight! btw....this isn't Craig but a member of his team. Bad internet service here and I leave tomorrow to head home so will be able to catch up very soon on everyone's images. Thanks for bearing with me! Struggle getting my laptop to keep a connection. I've had a blast being here and the Canadian people are the best but a bit too cold for me. The warmth the people have given me, though, made the cold weather very barable!

Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi
1/50s f/5.6 at 47.0mm iso400 full exif

other sizes: small medium large auto

Great game - not as easy as it looks - the stones are easy to throw but the sweeping is the hard part :-)

I'm not far from where you've been visiting...funny you say it's cold. For us this is almost t-shirt and shorts weather. ;-) Safe travels home.

The Scots refer to curling as "chess on ice" due to the strategy in the sport. Excellent choice and view.

Original thinking!

Team blue! :)

This is a great catch! Love the curling... though it's not as fun as bowling with frozen turkeys.
J. Scott Coile03-Feb-2009 20:08
You are DEFINITELY in Canada ;-)

I'm glad to hear you stayed awake for the game...lol
Cool shot of a fun sport that is more difficult than it appears!

Glad your having fun.......come back soon this time to Saskatchewan..we are at -30c but warming up to -16.. ;-)

Glad to see you took in some curling. It's a very social sport, but I must admit, much harder than it looks! I had the bruises on my knee to prove it...lol.

Curling looks like vigorous house cleaning sweeping...nice angle. The curling mega-dust balls or what ever they're called look heavy. (Scottish game isn't it...the Scots do have some weird looking sport like tossing telephone poles (caber, kaber)...)
Jay Levin03-Feb-2009 07:04
It reminds me of the Super Bowl! It looks like he's getting a real workout!
Russ Rose03-Feb-2009 06:30
Looks like fun.
