TITC - BLAST FROM THE PAST - THE 60'S....DRINK COCA-COLA

Fort Worth, TX

The guy who owns this said he bought it new in 1961....10 cents a bottle....can't beat that! I now get one in plastic that costs $1.49 and you can't return them for money like you used to. If you brought the bottles back they'd give you somewhere between 3 cents - 5 cents depending. Now, you just stick them in the recycling bin.

other sizes: small medium large auto

I miss those things, when I was a tyke, we used tos scavange the bottles from the sides of the highway, they were wort 3 cents back in the fifties. It was fun to see where each bottle was made, the city name was on the bottom. Great shot, Cindi.

Coke was my favorite back then and I prefer it to Pepsi. Great find and I remember paying 20 cents for a glass 'bottle'.

I was one of those kids who scrounged for bottles to redeem. That's what funded my model airplane hobby.

I actually remember this.
Deposit was 2¢ and a kid could get rich if he was
at the right location.

A great find and excellent work capturing the decay. I remember gathering bottles and taking them in for refunds - no more (well except South Australia).
