This simple Carmelite nun (January 2, 1873 – September 30, 1897) who served the Lord through her simple, everyday routine in
the monastery is the present-day patron saint of France. She always mentioned that "toute est grace" (everything is grace),
meaning that even in the most mundane of things such as everyday chores we can still find and receive God's blessings.

Not an intellectual in the true sense of the word, St. Thérèse herself was always conscious of the technical weakness in her style of writing
that in a gist was basically 'conversational' ... Despite that she still became the youngest of all the Doctors of the Church because, according
to the late Pope John Paul II "... her ardent spiritual journey shows such maturity, and the insights of faith expressed in her writings are
so vast and profound that they deserve a place among the great spiritual masters". It was therefore an honor to have been physically
present as he announced at Longchamp, Bois de Bulogne, in Paris https://pbase.com/carinoza/image/72952346 during the 12th
World Youth Day celebrations (August 24, 1997) about his intentions to officially confer St. Thérèse with such an important title
(formally done later that year at Saint Peter's Basilica in the Vatican on October 19, 1997).

Also fondly known as the Little Flower, the former Thérèse Martin of Lisieux vowed that a shower of roses will fall from heaven when she dies -
and miraculously did just that. Feast day: October 1. Her relics will be displayed here at the Manila Cathedral on March 8-10, 2008.
