Q.T. (pronounced "Cutie" cough! cough! cough!) or more popularly known as Quentin Tarantino is in town to do, among others things
- receive his 'Lifetime' Achievement Award from the 9th Cinemanila International Film Festival (CIFF). :-)

Earlier in the day, QT held a "Directors' Workshop" at the Gateway Mall Cineplex 10 in Araneta Center, Cubao, Quezon City.
Later at night, right after the awards were given, the Cinemanila debut of QT's latest film "Death Proof" was shown for the first time.

Anecdote: The next day, caught in the middle of traffic during the aftermath of Typhoon "Egay" on his way to the Rizal Hall of Malacañang (presidential) Palace for a formal audience with the President, QT - wearing a local men's formalwear called "Barong Tagalog" - happily waded through the flood waters from his limousine and gamely rode a pedicab (bicycle-driven sidecar) just to get there on time! Talk about being 'koboy'! :-D The award, according to the CIFF committee, is for his “continued support for the proliferation of Asian films which he claims were a strong influence in his film-making style”. The same award also went to Robert Malengreau, director of the Belgian Independent Film Festival.
