May 29, 2006: Ever since I got my first camera (Fuji Auto-5), there was no turning back ...
Growing up in pre & post-colonial Papua New Guinea has exposed me to different cultures and the variety of what is called life.
But at the same time it all the more made me long for all things Pinoy (Filipino) - the very culture I was supposed to represent.
This site is therefore, first and foremost, a photographic journey/tribute to the Philippine panorama and its rich heritage.
Where else in the world can one experience natural (and man-made!) occurrences like typhoons, floods, earthquakes,
volcanic eruptions, coup d'etats, People Power Revolutions, etc. on a regular basis? It's a photo-op haven, I tell you! :-p
I will also feature favorites such as portraiture, trips abroad, family updates for friends and family, and photo-journalism scoops like the
World Youth Day coverage (held regularly every other year aside from Rome in a different country), the explosion of Mt. Pinatubo, etc.
Most of my work prior to May 2, 2006 was taken by a 35mm Pentax ESPIO-160 until I recently acquired a Sony DSC-R1 which is all that I
can afford at the moment - but I just looove it! Besides, it's light enough for petite photographers on-the-go like me. For more portability,
I occassionally borrow a compact digital camera that is available.
Photography is my passion. Some may consider that I do not have the best equipment available (all these endless debates about Canon vs. Nikon
- groaaan - they're just tools, man!), but I do try to make the most of what I have - with plenty of room for improvement. I only started posting
after my trial run just this October 2006 ... most of my work still has to be digitalized (oh my aching wallet!) ... so please bear with me.
Thanx for dropping by and don't hesitate to vote for the photos you like! Also visit and leave a message at my Guestbook, or send
an e-mail and give constructive criticism for the photos that need improvement and suggestions/tips on how to improve the site.
