So…years ago a young Asian artist rented the house next to ours. And I watched over that summer as she struggled to build a prism shaped sculpture big enough to sit in and covered it in mirrors. Soon she left, leaving the mirror prism behind her rental house in the woods, where it stood until rain and rot won out.

Recently the landlord collected the remains for disposal. I happened to walk by and my eye was caught by the pile of stacked broken mirrors. It was late afternoon and the mirrors reflected the sunset sky and fall colors. All night the mirror visions stayed with me. Next day, I collected some of the mirror pieces and they sort of took over my photographic life for awhile. They have dragged me into the woods, to flat water and rushing streams. And this gallery is the result. So here is some recycled art. Built to be sculpture, the broken mirrors now get another soul to shape them into creative visions. I hope you enjoy.
