 periclymenoides...

Rhododendron periclymenoides, formerly named nudiflorum with a common name of Pinxterbloom, is found in the wild along the East Coast, from Vermont and Massachusetts south to northern Georgia, northern Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky and West Virginia, usually in moist to dry open woods from 300' to 3500', in USDA zones 4b to 9a. It was named in 1734, is not fragrant, and blooms deep pink to reddish pink to white, before or as the leaves expand in late-April to mid-May.
