 Azaleas...

As further described at the Azaleas web page, azaleas are in the genus Rhododendron, and are either evergreen (actually, they have two sets of leaves, dropping their spring leaves in the fall but keeping their summer leaves) or deciduous (dropping all their leaves in the fall).

Azaleas are either "species" (grow true from seed), or hybrids of species or other hybrids and do not grow true from seed. These and other distinctions are shown here by the format of the name:
• a species name is shown in italics with a "Rhododendron" or "R.", prefix, e.g. R. vaseyi. Here, the prefix is omitted.
• an "accepted" (has appeared in a dated publication) hybrid name is shown surrounded by single quotes, e.g. 'Aioi'. Here, "accepted" is relaxed to include names appearing on other websites such as online catalogs.
• other names are "unpublished working names" for the pictured plants, and are surrounded by double quotes, e.g. "Gregory Bald #6", or they are followed by *, with a note to that effect.
• a name which may not be the correct name for the pictured plant is followed by ?, sometimes with a note.
