yes-- colour for impact!!! like it-- especially orange :)!!

:O It's so rare to see you shoot color Antonis, such that when you do... the impact is very great. Was there any particular reason you chose color here? It's especially ironic that a sad scene should be depicted colorfully. :) I like the irony.

I like the shot. As a bachelor, I eat alone all the time. Sad indeed. -_-

I really like this. It would be great in colour or b&w. There is sort of a sadness or poignacy associated with solitary diners - although I don't mind it myself if I have a good book or a newspaper - but there are folks who don't seem to have a choice in the matter .

Great catch! The people on the back really make this one..

This photo is so interesting to me because it shows this man who is all alone but yet in the midst of other people. Is he alone because he chooses to be or because life has chosen that for him?

Wonderful catch!
The colours and comp are lovely!
Guest 16-Apr-2005 14:29
This photo makes me sad. It's because the man is fairly old, judging from his appearance. But it's not even that which makes the photo sad. It's the fact that he is also eating alone. Does he have no one to eat it? Or is he having a quick bite before he goes off to meet up with his friends? I like this shot because it gets me thinking.. :D

I really like your black and white, but when I saw this my response was "Wow". The colors and reality and understanding of the environ. I enjoy this photo for it's beauty and I learn of your country and people. This man is enjoying his meal.

You know what I remember of meals in Greece? The tomatoes taste so wonderful. It is where I first understood why tomatoes are called fruits. It must be the Mediterranian climate.

Very nice and colorful photo.

nice capture. at least he can enjoy his beer without the wife nagging him. ;)
Guest 16-Apr-2005 08:09
WOW, when you put up colour photos, they are really colourful!
Guest 16-Apr-2005 07:36
great shot - colour works a treat. Love the freshness of the table linen as well. not sure whether the inclusion of the person in the background adds to or detracts from the message but a great shot nonetheless.
Guest 16-Apr-2005 07:33
The picture with the caption really do capture the feeling of eating alone. Sadly I can relate. I hate eating alone in public.
Guest 16-Apr-2005 01:32
incredible ;-)

The more I look into the image, the more I see ... love the colour! :)
Guest 15-Apr-2005 23:21
Nice even with color! Hey Antonis, may I know what post-work you did on this image?
Guest 15-Apr-2005 22:52
Nice shot,Antonis. I think this is the first image I see of yours in color and I'm not disappointed!
Guest 15-Apr-2005 22:47
haven't seen a coloured shot from you for a long time.

Gail Davison15-Apr-2005 22:17
Antonis - you are a star at candids. Amazing.
Guest 15-Apr-2005 22:01
Cracking!

Great shot - this one works well in colour.

Your sudden splash of bright colours give a particular emphasis to this picture. It’s deeply melancholy and the contrast with the richness of colours make it more impressive.
You are always new and yourself at the same time in your work.
Thank you for offering us emotions in images!

This one stands so out when I came to your gallerie, because of the sudden color in what almost is a black and white gallerie. Very nice tones and nice caption. Good thing I already started to cook my dinner here and I am ready to eat now :)

I thought there was something wrong with my monitor!
A vivid image here Antonis, you had no choice but to present this jacket in color I think.
Chris Sofopoulos15-Apr-2005 19:37
Great colour and pose. I think I'm a little hungry now..
Adalberto Tiburzi15-Apr-2005 19:09
... and the flourishing girl emphasises his loneliness... how sad, notwithstanding the colour, though.
Gary Hebert15-Apr-2005 18:26
Very good light and color Antonis.
yosi aptekar15-Apr-2005 17:51
nice image.
jude15-Apr-2005 17:36
Repeating hues of the color in his jacket, hat, and the chairs.. very nice
laine8215-Apr-2005 17:11
This is a bit of a shock...not unpleasant mind as the colours & light are wonderful !!
Lee Rudd15-Apr-2005 17:04
I see why you left this image in colour... he is so striking sitting there.
Gary Winters15-Apr-2005 16:56
Well done, as usual...but why the color? I mean, the color looks great, don't misunderstand, I'm just curious how you decide to leave one in color and put another in black and white. Just want to crawl inside your brain, you see. LOL
Guest 15-Apr-2005 16:31
As some other know I'm partial to some good colour and this is very good, they all complement each other very well. I guess he's not eating that alone now!!
Coleen Perilloux Landry15-Apr-2005 16:30
The colors and light in this are wonderful.
