G4HJT, September 1982

Yaesu "twins" FR-50B and FL-50B.
Heathkit HW-8.
KW-Ezee match and "no-name" tuners.
TR-2200 for 2 m fm.

Graduated from a crystal set as a young child to a H.A.C. one valve trf receiver kit, later to be upgraded with another valve audio amplifier. A Codar Multiband 6 transistor kit http://www.flickr.com/photos/g4fui/3770872925/ was a step up and gave many happy hours listening to shortwave broadcasters, and a few amateur transmissions. The Radio Exchange Roamer 10 was another trf kit I tried, nice description of that kit at http://www.richardneedham.homecall.co.uk/Roamer10.html

A couple of old military radios, a HRO and R1155A, provided good reception, until the FR-50B arrived in the shack, treasure from a day out to London and the Alexandra Palace radio rally.

other sizes: small medium large original auto
