Amateur Radio

Been playing radio on and off since I was a kid... It all started because my father borrowed a library book on building a simple crystal set. After graduating to a one-valve (tube) regenerative receiver, I began to listen to the short-wave broadcast bands and then the amateur bands. Got my first amateur (or "ham") radio liencse as a teenager in the UK with radio callsign G4HJT in 1978. Here are a few images from many years of operating, in the UK and in north America, and on DXpedition. They include various incarnations of the operating setup or "radio shack", different QSL cards (cards sent to confirm a two-way contact between ham stations or to confirm a short-wave listener report), and a few antennas and radios.

If you're not familar with ham radio and want to learn more, try visiting http://www.arrl.org/licensing-education-training
