G4HJT's "antenna farm" circa 1980

A collection of antennas is referred to as an "antenna farm" - a tongue-in-cheek description in this case. There is a HQ-1 minibeam for 10-15-20 m about 30 feet up. The mast was made from boiler tubes and an aluminium mast from a local scrapyard. Two boiler tubes were placed in a concrete base, with the third hinged between them. On the right, a short mast supports the end of a "long" wire, which ran from the ground-floor shack, up to the eaves and then down to the end of the garden.
